Version 15 11/2013: See airport listing file for new changes.

This file includes modified AFCAD files and exclude files to provide a reasonable depiction of propliner era airports. It includes backdated parking (using the "terminal turn"), aprons, taxiways, and runways. It sometimes includes shortened/removed runways and modified airport aprons. It does NOT include new terminal buildings, airport details, and other changes that would be included in a true scenery package.

SOME MODERN AIRPORTS ARE REMOVED. Refer to the Airport Changes text file (found in the zip file and in the FS2004/Addon Scenery/Propliner AI Traffic folder) for the older airports used instead of the current major airport in many cities, so you can plan your flights into the correct airports.

Installation Instructions for aiafcad2k4.zip:

1. Unzip this aiafcad2k4.zip file archive into a temporary folder. You will find this text file and a file called SetupAFCAD.exe. (WinXP: double click the zip file)

2. Double click the SetupAFCAD.exe file to start the installation. If it doesn't find your main FS2004 folder automatically, press the ... button and browse to it. (WinXP: press the Run button at the warning screen.)

4. Start FS2004 and from the opening screen, choose Settings/Scenery Library. If you are flying, press Esc and choose End Flight. Then choose Settings/Scenery Library.

5. Look for the CalClassic Core layer, near the top of the list. If it is there, you are done. Click the Cancel button at the bottom.

6. If the layer is not there, press the Add Area... button. Double click the Addon Scenery folder, and then single click on the CalClassic Core folder. The box near the bottom should say CalClassic Core.

6. Click OK. You will now have a CalClassic Core scenery layer at the top of the list, with a red check mark in the box. For System 7 or later, click in the white area of the box to add the layer.

7. Click once on the CalClassic Core scenery layer to select it, and then use the Move Down button to move it below all of your classic airport sceneries (including the larger area sceneries like California or the Southwest). This will allow any AFCAD files present in those sceneries to override the ones found here.

8. Click OK and restart FS to see the changes.

Enjoy!

There are 12 files that make up this package, 9 are required.

A. Files 1 through 7 - seven required AI Aircraft files:

ai2k41.zip through ai2k47.zip: The AI planes that make up the scheduled AI traffic.

B. File 8 - required AI Traffic file:

ai2k4T.zip: The Traffic file. This will use scenery layers so you can switch between the three years, and between modern and propliner traffic.

C. File 9 - required AFCAD Backdating file:

ai2k4afcad.zip: The file of FS2004 AFCADs. This will backdate many of the world's airports (and add parking) and add many airports missing in FS.

D. File 10 - optional Sound Effects file:

AI_Sound_Effects.zip: The Sound Effects files, which includes touchdown chirp and reverse sounds upon landing.

E. File 11 - optional Editvoicepack Import File:

ai2k4EVP.zip: This provides files for you to import into your voice pack, using EditVoicePack3 (http://bevelstone.xs4all.nl/FlightSimulator/EditVoicepack).

F. File 12 - optional extra AI aircraft file, which is not used in this traffic:

ai2k4M.zip: These are miscellaneous aircraft that are not included in the scheduled Traffic files (VC-118, CV-600/640). These do not need to be downloaded.
