This is the DC-7C Seven Seas Base Pack. This is a long range aircraft, with navigator and nacelle saddle tanks. You will add all other DC-7C liveries to this Base Pack installation. This Base Pack already includes the original Pan American livery.

DOCUMENTATION:

FSX/SimObjects/Aiplanes/DC-7C/dc7cfsx.txt for details on the featurees of this aircraft.
FSX/SimObjects/Aiplanes/dc7pnlKMCC/DC-7 PANEL OPERATIONS folder for how to use the panel.

NOTE: If you are installing into P3D and the text below has a path to FSX, replace that with P3D.

Installation:

This EXE installer will NOT create a Start Menu entry, registry entry, uninstall program or anything else, other than copying the relevant files to the proper folders. You may install to a temporary folder by pressing the ... button and copying things by hand if you wish.

If you are installing into P3D, change any folder reference below from FSX to P3D.

WARNING! YOU MUST HAVE FSUIPC INSTALLED OR FSX/P3D MAY CRASH! Get the FSX and P3D versions from: http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html

Quit FS if it is running before installation.

1. Using My Computer or Windows Explorer, examine your FSX/SimObjects/Airplanes folder for a folder called DC-7C. If you find it, rename the aircraft.cfg file inside it to aircraft_old.cfg. If you have added any extra liveries, you will use this backup file to add the extra livery sections to the new aircraft.cfg file. YOU WILL LOSE YOUR ADDED LIVERY SECTIONS (if any) IF YOU DO NOT BACK UP THIS FILE.

2. Double click this file archive to open it. You will find this text file and a file called SetupFSX.exe.

3. Double click the SetupFSX.exe file to start the installation. Press the Run button at the warning screen. If it doesn't find your main FSX folder automatically or you are installing into P3D, press the ... button and browse to it. If you are installing into P3D it will NOT find your main P3D folder (the one with Prepar3D.exe in it). Press the ... button and browse to it. Follow the installation instructions.

4. The first time you load the plane into FSX or P3D, it may ask you one or more times if you want to load a gauge. Click the Run button. Then it will ask you if you want to trust it. Click the Yes button.

5. Remember to follow the FSX Propliner Tutorial found at http://www.calclassic.com/propliner_tutorial_fsx.htm

6. This plane includes a special VC Camera Definition called CalClassic VC View. If chosen, it will eliminate the FSX bug that causes the view of the VC to be incorrect if you press Ctrl-Spacebar to reset the view. Use this view instead of the default VC view to avoid this.

7. To add more liveries to this Base Pack or to replace the liveries from your old aircraft.cfg file (other than the Base Pack livery), follow the instructions found in the Adding Liveries.txt file in the plane's folder. If desired, copy the GlobalEnv_AC_Chrome.dds file from the default livery and paste it into any added liveries. This will give a better display of reflections, in my opinion. This file is from Bob Rivera and is globalenv_texturesv1.zip at AVSIM.

8. Follow the instructions in the Start Here.htm file in the XXX PANEL OPERATIONS folder to operate this panel. XXX = the panel/plane type, inside the panel's main folder.

NOTE: Certain gauges require FSUIPC to be installed into your flight sim program. Get it here: http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html You must install the correct version for your flight sim version!

After installation of all the files, start FSX/P3D and the plane(s) will appear in the Select Aircraft menu. If you see duplicated variation entries, you did not remove all old aircraft.
